JSF F-35

I was out in the desert this last week and got a cool glimpse of the new Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) out at China Lake. It was practicing it's vertical take off and landings, which was really fun to watch. The Fighter was developed by Lockheed and will be purchased by the United States and eight other allies including Great Britain and Australia. They purposefully made it inferior to the F-22 so as to keep the USA one step ahead of any other fighters in the world. Here's an informative video:

Why would they make an inferior fighter? That's like letting us win.

The idea is that we make something inferior to our F-22, but better than anything else out there and give it to our allies so that they can womp on anyone except us. I'm not too wild about selling them to Turkey, and there are people who think the Russian SU-37 would blow it out of the sky all things being equal.
