Old New Work

One of my favorite places to shoot personal work is Central Oregon. Why Central Oregon? Exactly.

Awesome

I recently got to do a shoot at a really rich person's house. They are so rich that they have their own museum with the largest private sports memorabelia collection in the world. They also have things like film memorabilia, fossils, and all sorts of cool stuff. And they were really, really nice and gave us a tour:

game-worn Shaq shoe

game-used Babe Ruth bat

Honus Wagner baseball card. Most sought after card in the world, worth a cool $1.1 million. I checked my Beckett just to be sure.

Chewie's head. rrrrrraaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr

Chewie's gun. It's actually a customized WWII machine gun and weighs 60 lbs. rrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr

Indiana Jones collection

The tablet from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

I have chosen wisely. This is the holy grail which fell into the crack in the end when Elsa steps over the seal.

More From The Brothers Karamazov

"You'll live many days yet," the doctor would answer, "and months and years too."
"Months and years!" he would exclaim. "Why reckon the days? One day is enough for a man to know all happiness. My dear ones, why do we quarrel, try to outshine each other and keep grudges against each other? Let's go straight into the garden, walk and play there, love, appreciate, and kiss each other, and glorify life."
"Your son cannot last long," the doctor told my mother, as she accompanied him to the door. "The disease is affecting his brain."

And possibly my favorite sentence of the book so far:

"So prone is the man of the world to be ashamed of any righteous action."

Pissed But Proud

So last night Kit was booted off Project Runway ( or, as she calls it, "Project Rungay"), and all I have to say is that she got thrown under the bus by cry-baby-pansyass-comparatively talentless Ricky, and that somehow the judges (or more likely the producers, who know their demographic)can't seem to figure out what everyone else has: Ricky can't hang anymore, and he knows it.

OK, now that i got a little anger out, what I mainly wanted to say is that i'm super proud of Kit. She put in so much effort and energy, and actually sacrificed much of her life in LA for a season of shooting the show in New York. And it's just flat out inspiring to see your friends go for it. So i'm proud of you Tina.

Aside from not making it to the finals, the thing i was most bummed about was that they didn't give her much play time, and i felt like her wonderful personality didn't shine through. She never really received much criticism or praise and basically flew under the radar. I suppose the fact that she's a low-drama, quietly confident person doesn't bode well for "reality" TV, but luckily it does for reality!

Here is a link to her interview with Entertainment Weekly after departing the show:

And to wrap this post up on a positive note, Tina's bows and accesories are now being sold at Fred Segal:
